Ohio: 2004 Stolen Elections and Bush Money Laundering

A federal probes finds Team Bush in Washington invloved in more deciepts, this time with three indictments for money laundering and other pro-Bush election crimes involving Ohio "Coingate" lynchpin Tom Noe. Again bringing the light to Ohio's 2004 stolen election scandal.

The latest charges are that Noe did an end run around the $2,000 federal campaign donation limit by giving his money to 24 associates and having them funnel it to the Bush-Cheney campaign. This helped Noe's keep his promise to raise $50,000 for the GOP presidential effort. Noel Hillman, the chief of the U.S. Justice Department's Public Integrity Section, calls this case against Noe "one of the most blatant and excessive campaign-finance criminal schemes we have encountered" in recent years.

And let us not forget who else is tied in, Ohio Gov. Robert Taft has also been convicted of three misdemeanor ethics violations, at least one of which involves a golf outing with Noe, at which Noe claims he told Taft about the secret Coingate investment/slush fund.

This large money laundering scandal leading directly to the Bush-Cheney campaign, in the state where the 2004 election was decided, adds another dimension to corruption in the Bush Whitehouse. Not only faslifying inteligence to bring us to war, Plamegate scandals, but rigged elections and money laundering to boot.

Noe is also at the center of speculation on how huge numbers of votes in the Toledo area may have wrongly found their way into the Bush column, helping the GOP again take the presidency in 2004.

Noe was deeply involved in controversial procurement deals that brought Diebold opti-scan vote counting machines into inner city Toledo precincts. Many of those machines suspiciously malfunctioned at key times on election day. Ohio: 2004 Stolen Elections

As legal nooses tighten around the Bush/Cheney/Rove inner circle, a shocking government report questions the legitimacy of the 2004 election of Bush to a second term. This in an extremely damming report from the General Accounting Office.

The General Accounting Office is the government's lead investigative agency known for its thorough, in-depth analyses. The report GAO has released concurs with assertions, widely dismissed as "conspiracy theories", that Bush is not the legitimate 2004 presidential election.

Last year, senior Judiciary Committee John Conyers (D-MI) asked the General Accounting Office to investigate electronic voting machines used during the November 2, 2004, presidential election. According to CNN, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee received "more than 57,000 complaints" following Bush's alleged re-election. Many have been recorded under oath in a series of sworn statements and affidavits in public hearings and investigations.

The nonpartisan General Accounting Office report has found that, "some of [the] concerns about electronic voting machines have been realized and have caused problems with recent elections, resulting in the loss and miscount of votes."

The United States is the only major democracy that allows private partisan corporations to secretly count and tabulate the votes with proprietary non-transparent software.

This General Accounting Office study makes it clear that no bank, grocery store nor mom & pop shop would dare operate its business on a computer system as flimsy, fragile and easily manipulated as the one on which the 2004 election turned.

The CEO of one of the most crucial suppliers of electronic voting machines, Warren O'Dell of Diebold, pledged before the 2004 campaign to deliver Ohio's electoral votes to George W. Bush. In a 2003 fundraising letter, Diebold CEO Wally O'Dell promised to deliver Ohio's 2004 electoral votes—and thus the election—to Bush. O'Dell is one of Ohio's 19 GOP Bush Pioneer/Ranger high money donors.

These findings are particularly damning when set in the context of an election run in Ohio by a secretary of state who was simultaneously working as co-chair of the Bush-Cheney campaign. The findings confirm that the electronic network on which 800,000 Ohio votes were cast was vulnerable enough to allow a a tiny handful of operatives, or less, to turn the whole vote count using personal computers operating on relatively simple software.

The General Accounting Office report now confirms that electronic voting machines as deployed in 2004 were in fact perfectly engineered to allow a very small number of partisans with minimal computer skills and equipment to shift enough votes to put George W. Bush back in the White House, and that there are now many of these occurrences of shifted votes, almost always in Bush's favor, documented.

Vice President Dick Cheney is aggressively pursuing an initiative that ise unprecedented for the executive branch: He is proposing that Congress legally authorize human rights abuses by Americans. "Cruel, inhuman and degrading" treatment of prisoners is banned by an international treaty negotiated by the Reagan administration and ratified by the United States. The State Department annually issues a report criticizing other governments for violating it. Now Mr. Cheney is asking Congress to approve legal language that would allow the CIA to commit such abuses against foreign prisoners it is holding abroad. In other words, this vice president has become an open advocate of torture.

He once refered to torture as the "Dark Arts"?

I hope people notice that people who have actually been to war (unlike the entire Bush admin) DO NOT abdicate torture.

After Robert's was so easily confirmed I really was worried that no one would stand up against ANOTHER cronies on the SUPREME court. It was outrageous that she was the nomination in the first place, it was also outrageous that the Democrats were not the power behind her withdrawal, conservative Republicans were. It does give hope that the Bush cabal does not completely own the Republican party.

So this week will we dump more cronies, it seems that we will see indictment of Cheney, Rove and two of their lead staffers. With these sorts of power mad elitists you could read "staffer" as "servants" if you wanted.

I have been enjoying the word 'cabal' lately and was very pleased to see the word used by Colin Powell's Chief of Staff to describe Cheney's and Rumsfeld's dealings, work and lies that led to the bogus deadly and damaging war and current occupation in Iraq.

Meanwhile in Iraq, Corpwatch is reporting that tens of thousands of low-wage Asian laborers are traveling to Iraq to work for U.S. military contractors such as Halliburton. Monthly salaries usually range from $200 to $1000 - far less than the salaries paid to U.S. contractors. Many of the workers are coming from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. CorpWatch reports they frequently sleep in crowded trailers and wait outside in line in 100 degree plus heat to eat "slop." Many are said to lack adequate medical care and put in hard labor seven days a week, 10 hours or more a day, for little or no overtime pay. They are also often unprotected from the ongoing fighting. When U.S. contractors slip on helmets and bulletproof vests, the Asian laborers are frequently shielded only by the shirts on their backs. The number of Asian laborers killed since the war began is unknown.

Abdel Amir Younes Hussein, a cameraman with CBS News, has been held since April 5th. Journalist Ammar Daham Naef Khalaf who works for Agence France-presse has been detained since April 11th. Cameramen Samer Mohamed Noor and Ali Omar Abrahem Al Mashadani, of the British press agency Reuters, have been held since June 4 and August 8, respectively. Correspondent Hameed Majed of Al-Arabiya, has been detained since September 15. Reporters without Borders said all of the journalists have been denied access to a lawyer, and the right to receive a visit from their families or their employers.

That really is not that big of deal, the deal is that he never came forward about this when asked about trouble with the law. FEMA's actions, along with further reports that the government is obstructing journalists in New Orleans, have drawn little attention from the very media institutions that the agency, part of the Bush administration, seeks to repress.

Sounds outrageous right, but not only do they propose to review scientist's peer reviewed papers, but also the entire careers of these scientists. But would it surprise you if these sorts of review requests are only for scientists whose work is at odds with lobbyist representing large interests, such as oil?

Hacker Steals Air Force Officers' Personal Information

One half of the US Air Force's Officers personal information was stolen by hackers this last week. This information included information about officers families, home addresses and Social Security numbers.

The military says that they will provide information to these people so if their 'identity' is stolen they can find out, and then knoiw of the bureaucratic nightmare of rebuilding their identity. I am sure that is comforting.

They did not really discuss that these people are serving in war that makes them targets as well. They just acted as if the only thing that a hacker illegally accessing the Air Force computer networks would be to steal financial information. Though they did mention security at the bases.

And again here is a real threat to the US, on US soil. But what is Bush doing? Bankrupting our goverment and killing our children and others in Iraq.

• Were they looking for evidence as early as February 2002 to justify an attack on Iraq?


• Why did they continue to claim that Iraq was trying to buy nuclear material when their evidence for such a claim was forged?


• Who forged the Niger memo that fit so well into the administration’s rationale for war?


• Was there an attempted cover up of who leaked the identity of Valerie Wilson?


• If so, does that cover up also constitute an attempt to cover up information that might reveal whether or not the Bush administration misled the public into war with Iraq?

And let us not forget: Twice, Karl Rove was dismissed from George H.W. Bush's campaign, in 1980 and 1992, respectively, for leaking to Novak.

Donald H. Rumsfeld seems to think that the best to to win the war on terror is to have a big party with big name entertainment. Donald also thinks that to win the war on terror we must further confuse the 9/11 attacks with the war in Iraq.

Can I say it one more time, I am not confused, The Bush Administration is a complete failure, the one eyed Mullah Omar and Osama Bin Laden and his deputy are still running around in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Instead of pursuing an intelligent campaign old Donald thinks a party is in order. Someone should explain, usually you have the party when the war is over or there is something to celebrate.

More than one year before the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, a small, highly classified military-intelligence unit identified Mohammed Atta and three other future hijackers as likely members of an Al-Qaida cell operating in the United States. This according to a former defense intelligence official and a member of Congress, Curt Weldon, Republican of Pennsylvania.

One year before 9/11 this intelligence unit wanted to alert the FBI but their recommendations were not followed. One year after 9/11 the issue was again raised but not mentioned by the 9/11 commission.

So again people at the top are responsible for ignoring and possibly burying this intelligence after the fact. My question is are we trying to win or are we trying to lose. There is no accountability from the top, nor responsibility. Lots of blame on the intelligence community though.

It reminds me of the white-house memo titled "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the U.S.". This memo had been described by the White House as a historical document with little information about domestic al Qaeda threats. The now declassified intelligence report said the FBI had detected "patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings."

Highlights from that report include:

• An intelligence report received in May 2001 indicating that al Qaeda was trying to send operatives to the United States through Canada to carry out an attack using explosives. That information had been passed on to intelligence and law enforcement agencies.


• An allegation that al Qaeda had been considering ways to hijack American planes to win the release of operatives who had been arrested in 1998 and 1999.


• An allegation that bin Laden was set on striking the United States as early as 1997 and through early 2001.


• Intelligence suggesting that suspected al Qaeda operatives were traveling to and from the United States, were U.S. citizens, and may have had a support network in the country.


• A report that at least 70 FBI investigations were under way in 2001 regarding possible al Qaeda cells/terrorist-related operations in the United States.

The Bush administration is full of failures, they always have an excuse, they always have someone to blame, and they push out anyone with valid experience who may try to tell them they are missing the point.

At 5:11 Am the Shuttle Landed Safely Today. Thank goodness.

I hope that we will look to remake a future space program with modern vehicles and not continue to try to make a complete space program out of the aging Space Shuttle.

I love the space program but NASA needs a kick in the pants. Their reaction to this crisis was poor and seemed almost defeatists.

What about using the Shuttle as an unmanned payload ferry, or even skip the shuttle and use the boosters to lift the large payloads that supposedly necessitate the continued use of the shuttle.

Perhaps the Bush administration is trying to bankrupt and tear down the space program like they are trying to bankrupt the education system, social security and the the US government in general.

White House Plan Called for Covert Aid in Iraq Vote

GW Bush wanted to run elections abroad like they run them here in the US. Not with the sole purpose of a fair and transparent election but with the purpose of trying to get elected who they wanted by hook or by crook. The administration pushed a covert plan to support those parties we felt best suited our interests, but congress disapproved of this idea. The administration says they abandoned the idea, but they went ahead with it anyway.

Just another example of Bush and his cronies giving a Rat's ass about Democracy and just go ahead with their plans and then lie about it. Just like going to war with Iraq in the first place.

An article by Seymour M. Hersh, reports that the administration proceeded with the covert plan over the Congressional objections. Several senior Bush administration officials disputed this, even though they recalled renewed discussions within the administration last fall about how the United States might counter what was seen as extensive Iranian support .

Pres. Bush, in public statements, insisted that the United States will help promote conditions for democracy in the region and will live with whatever governments emerge in free elections. But as we see again and again Bush can't open his mouth without lying or obfuscating.

Unidentified former military and intelligence officials said the administration went ahead with covert election activities in Iraq that "were conducted by retired C.I.A. officers and other non-government personnel, and used funds that were not necessarily appropriated by Congress." ..."the methods and the scope of the covert effort have been hard to discern."

Representative Jane Harman of California, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, issued a statement: "Congress was consulted about the administration's posture in the Iraqi election. I was personally consulted. But if the administration did what is alleged, that would be a violation of the covert action requirements, and that would be deeply troubling."

Because the US flew to Romania, people fleeing the horrible oppression of the Uzbek government, they have asked us to abandon our air-base in their country. I am glad we ferried these people to Romania, but it is not news that the people of Uzbek are oppressed, will we do anything to support Democracy there?

The article ends by saying some in the US government argue for managed engagement, even with dictatorial governments, because without any Western influence in places like Uzbekistan, there would be influence from countries like Russia and China.

But if Uzbekistan was an autonomous democracy, as the US espouses, and not under any one countries thumb maybe Uzbekistan would not have to be under the infuence of anyone but it's own people.

It's not like Bush wants to put much effort into the Afghanistan Pakistan Region that this base was supporting. Bush and his administration can't or won't catch Osama Bin Laden, nor the one eyed Mullah Omar, nor the still unidentified domestic biological terrorist that released military grade Anthrax throughout the United States.

My Blogging Trinity

I set out, when starting this Blog, to keep an eye on and comment on my three political priorities:

• Election Reform


• Transperency and Simplicty

These three issues are key to save OUR government and culture from the all to human tendencies of nepotism, bureaucratic obfuscation, selfishness and eventual oligarchy that like entropy needs to be worked against day by day. These Three ideas are meant to save us from ourselves and keep all decisions and control clear for all to understand and constantly under public scrutiny.

More and more decisions are happening behind closed doors and more issues are being misrepresented. Do we think only African or Central American governments and people are effected by graft and corruption. In the US it has merely become more complex and insidious.

I plan to expand upon this idea when I have a little time.

Bolton Lied To Congress

Title 18, Section 1621 of the US Code states, anyone who “in any declaration, certificate, verification, or statement under penalty of perjury as permitted under section 1746 of title 28, United States Code, willfully subscribes as true any material matter which he does not believe to be true” has committed perjury.

Bolton was interviewed by the State Department as part of a joint investigation with the CIA into prewar Iraqi attempts to buy nuclear materials from Niger. A U.S. State Department spokesman revealed that John Bolton, President Bush's nominee for UN ambassador, lied to Congress when he said that he had not been interviewed or testified in any investigation over the past five years.

G.W. Bush is threatening to use a recess appointment early next week to install Bolton.

Even though the G.W. Bush administration does NOT NOT EVER directly meet the public, nor answer from anyone other than the most complacent in the media, never ever admit their faults or mistakes and would never testify under oath. Even though they goto outrageous lengths, it is obvious that they LIE more than tell the truth.

Federalists

The Federalists were originally those in favor of the ratification of the Constitution and continue to desire a strong central government and weaker state governments. Originally Anti-Federalists opposed ratification of the Constitution and continue to desire a a weak central government and stronger state governments.

From what I understand the Federalist society, Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. sat on the steering committee, was originally going to call themselves the Anti-Federalist society. Odd, perhaps they are merely self serving oligarchs. They also try to keep their membership secret, hardly men you want leading the country, to ashamed of themselves to stand in the light of day.

So not only did John G. Roberts Jr. deny his involvement in the group but so did the White house. I guess always being up to the exact opposite of what they say is to be expected from this administration. They are also only releasing choice documents on Roberts their nominee.

Hidden Agendas are the specialty of this White House under Bush, or is it under Cheney, or Rove? Who would ever know with the lies, smoke and mirrors?

The Service Employees International Union and the Teamsters to leave the A.F.L.-C.I.O.

The Service Employees International Union and the Teamsters to leave the A.F.L.-C.I.O. because of lack of leadership and unwillingness to address the falling membership roles. The A.F.L.-C.I.O. looks to lose 1/3 of it's membership as other groups jump ship.
The two unions are forming a competing labor coalition called the Change to Win coalition.

This is all very exciting, it's time to rebuild from the roots, who can deny the lack of labor's influence? I hope to see them unionize some of the newer labor driven companies. Maybe even pursue Wal Mart.

And the A.F.L.-C.I.O. response was to immediately vilify the dissenters rather than engage in a debate on the topics of contention. It is that unwillingness to engage in debate with it's own membership that has led to the current split.

Bush is a wiener. This issue is taking up all my post time, there is nothing bigger than this right now though.

He couldn't fire Rove or Cheney and this shows he is NOT a leader. If he was a moral upright American he would fire them without hesitation, if he was a conniving corrupt elitist he would say "Dick, Karl you guys need to take one for the team". But he's NOT a leader, not a good one or a bad one. He's frozen in inaction, and the RNC is in a panic.

They all are lying, and according to the RNC this all just blown out of proportion.

So it wasn't Karl, he just confirmed the identity of the CIA agent, Dick's secratary was the one who told. So I guess the Whitehouse is just full to the brim with liars.

Coopers and Miller may be accomplices to a Federal Crime by leaking the identity of CIA officer Valerie Plume. And hiding behind "protecting the sources" is not getting much play, and it shouldnt, seeing as this is an clandestine abuse of power from the highest office in the land.

No mention about the public right of way in this article, but mention that the Republican controlled FCC is unlikely to pursue changing course in this matter. I guess the kicker is to call it a data service and that this shouldn't be over regulated. Or in this case there should not be competition
