Is President Bush Truthful About His DUI Conviction?

This is in no way new news, but it is interesting to read none the less. Over at about.com they are reporting that President George Bush apparently got a DUI convection in 1974. That really is not that big of deal, the deal is that he never came forward about this when asked about trouble with the law. I think being honest should be a part of the 12 step plan, and it is probably a good idea for the president to be honest anyways.

Mice infected with Plague stolen!!

The FBI and New Jersey officials have started a hushed search for three missing lab mice infected with deadly strains of plague. The mice are missing from a bioterrorism research facility in Newark more than two weeks ago, but the incident was only confirmed Wednesday.

Richard Ebright, a Rutgers University microbiologist told the Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger, "You have more security at a McDonald's than at some of these facilities,".

Scientists, however, said with modern antibiotics, plague can be treated if quickly diagnosed. So if there was a national disaster with bioterrrism we will wait around for the government to come give us shots.

Where is media outrage over government attempts to restrict Katrina coverage?

A September 7 Reuters article reported that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) "asked the media not to take pictures of those killed by Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath" and "refused to take reporters and photographers along on boats seeking victims in flooded areas." FEMA's actions, along with further reports that the government is obstructing journalists in New Orleans, have drawn little attention from the very media institutions that the agency, part of the Bush administration, seeks to repress.
